What We Do

Provide custom high quality remotely triggered cameras and camera systems for weekend enthusiasts and professional squatchers.

Our Mission

Provide custom high quality remotely triggered cameras and camera systems for professional searchers and weekend enthusiasts. These are not trail cameras. These are professional cameras with custom configurations. Our goal is to provide these cameras and camera systems at no cost to any individual or organization that would like them for the length of their search.

The searchers will return the cameras at the end of their search and then loaned out to others for another search. The cameras, shipping and all other associated costs will be covered by us.

Origin Story

The idea for searchingforsquatch.com and the unique cameras was born out of an idea after listening to countless interviews of eyewitness accounts. I thought, there’s got to something to all of these accounts. There also seemed to be a constant theme that Sasquatch know when motion cameras and motion lights are around. The consensus seems to be that Squatch are able to see the infrared light emitted by these devices. If it’s true that Squatch can see this spectrum of light it lends truth to the stories that they avoid areas with these lights and possibly why it’s so difficult to capture them on trail cameras. I thought I could bring my experience as a former deputy sheriff and logical way of think to the search for sasquatch.

After researching animals and the various spectrums they are able to see including humans the conclusion was made that it is indeed possible that Squatch can see infrared or at the very least near infrared light. Then the idea of how to avoid this ability and still capture one on camera was in full swing. I began to recall stories of sasquatch visiting camp sites during the night. The stories often mention Sasquatch remaining just outside the campsite while everyone was awake and even visits to the site while everyone was sleeping or believed to be sleeping.

I thought if there was someway to have a completely stealthy camera there might be a way to capture them on camera. Then I thought of the idea of a remotely triggered camera. I searched the internet for just such a camera, but none existed. I found a way to make one from existing components. Modifications are necessary, especially to keep costs down but it could be done. With the aid of modern technology the costs for building a custom remotely triggered camera with a weatherproof housing is possible. Then reality hit and the thought of how to make such an endeavor possible began to sink in.

This is where the idea of building a website and a crowdfunding campaign came from. I need your help to make this dream become a reality. I am humbly asking for your help to make this idea happen.

Thank you taking the time to read our story. Please feel free to email with any questions or suggestions you might have. Let’s go have an adventure and see what we can find.

Our Plan

The plan is to start simple.

  1. Raise enough funding to create three prototypes. The cost for these prototypes is expected to be roughly ten-thousand dollars. This includes all camera equipment, 3D printers, supporting items, testing, professional support for designing, creating, set-up, and trouble shooting all equipment needed to support the effort.

  2. Testing the prototype. This includes shipping them out to people conducting research in all locations and conditions. Using feedback from real world testing to refine the design and equipment.

  3. After a winning prototype design has been determined full production for the cameras and supporting equipment will begin. The goal is to bring the cost for a complete camera setup to around $1,500. This cost will include camera, remote switch and weatherproof housing.

  4. Once enough camera units have been built begin sending them out into the world to hopefully capture something amazing once and for all answering the question is sasquatch real. The units will be available at no cost for individuals or organizations that would like to use them during a research trip. While there is no expressed time limit for the cameras each “rental” term will be determined on a case by case basis.
