Currently this is a personal project and an endeavor of one. I started this project because I want to know the truth. Not just about sasquatch, bigfoot, yowie, yeti or the like but about everything. Because I can’t know everything I thought I would work on something close to me, that’s how this project started. I’m a pretty logical and well reasoned person so I thought there’s got to be a logical explanation for this phenomenon. Either sasquatch exists or it doesn’t, there is no in between. I wanted to bring my law enforcement training, logical and methodical approach to this endeavor.

I started down this path as a casual listener of the stories from others after having my own experiences. I was walking on a hiking trail with my family when while on our return portion I began to hear footsteps. At first I though that’s odd. When I would stop to check the area they would stop. As soon as I would resume walking they would resume. This back and forth of stopping and starting went on for a bit when my wife came to me asked do you hear walking around us. I reluctantly acknowledged I heard them too. I brushed it off as nothing to her in an effort not to alarm her, especially since our kids were with us. I tried everything I could to identify what was walking around us but never could. I know it was bipedal and not the usual suspects of bear, panther or other large animal. I left woods uneasy but safely.

Another incident this time in Colorado was what led me to begin listening to encounter stories. I didn’t realize it at the time though. I just happen to have one such story pop up on my Youtube suggestions and I clicked on it. After that I began listening to more.

The incident in Colorado is not spectacular either, just a simple something that I couldn’t explain. My family was visiting Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) one night. We were at bear Lake, one of our favorite spots to visit, day or night. Each time has it’s own charm. This particular night was clear, crisp and cold. We were enjoying having the area to ourselves when all of a sudden my girls took off running toward the parking lot because something in the woodline growled. After a couple of minutes we went to investigate. We never found anything, partly out of reluctance to go too far into the woods at night with something growling at us. It wasn’t a cat or anything like that; the growl was too low pitched. It should not have been bear with it being the end of December. We figured they would be hibernating. Again, I never saw anything either time but this was enough to send me down a path I didn’t realize I was going to walk.

After listening to other encounters I noticed what I experienced seemed to be typical of many encounters. Footsteps following you just out of sight, growls and grunts from something large yet unidentified, sometimes later identified. My walk down this path is to find the truth. One way or the other the truth is out there. It only takes work and time to figure it out.

Please consider walking the path with me. It promises to be an interesting journey with no promised outcome, only friends and adventures along way.
